I did not get to the phone in time to answer, but they did leave a message. The call was an automated call to remind me of a telephone appointment with SSA tomorrow morning. This number should NOT be blocked; it is NOT spam.

Call from 972-497-1400. I didn't pick up. It was a legitimate business call.

I do have an appointment for a phone call interview to discuss my SS with SS tomorrow, so I suspect this was a legit reminder call. Because this number is automatically blocked by PhoneTray, it cut them off before my answering machine picked up. It's automatically blocked because some PhoneTray users have reported it as a bogus call. Perhaps someone is spoofing their number? My call blocker shows they called twice about half an hour apart.

Caller: BOGUS messages claiming that something re: Social Security.. Calling on behalf of: American Voice.

BOGUS messages claiming a call about RX drug program with Social Security. Robotic voice auto message. First part of message was missing. Last part gave some # to call. I didn't call. Couldn't understand it. On line searches reveal numerous scams from this claiming a call about Social Security. Don't believe it....!!

Call from 972-497-1400. I didn't pick up. It was phone scam.
Caller: American Voice * is what showed on my CID display.

You will find this phone number purporting to be from "American Voice" listed hundreds of times not only in but also and and other related sites. On each of these sites are dozens of BOGUS messages claiming that this is a LEGIT reminder call about appointments with Social Security. Those messages are from the SCAMMERS, people. CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER ARE SCAMS - NO IFS, ANDS OR BUTS. Don't take my word for it - call Social Security yourself! SS will tell you, THEY DO NOT USE CONTRACTORS TO NOTIFY PEOPLE OF APPOINTMENTS. IF THEY NEED TO DO THAT, THE LOCAL SS OFFICE WILL CALL YOU! Don't take my word for it - call AT&T yourself! Verify that 972-497-1400 is a disconnected number, whose CallerID is being spoofed by these crooks. Don't take my word for it - call American Voicemail yourself! The number is here: I fully expect that this message will be followed up by "Jane" or other of these scammers claiming it is a lie and that the number really is legitimate - it is NOT LEGIT - IT IS A SCAM.

I received a legitimate call from this number to confirm and remind me of an appointment I have with Social Security. When I spoke with Social Security I was told I would receive this reminder call. This call comes from a service that Social Security uses. They did not ask for any information. They stated the exact time of the appointment I made and give me the correct Social Security phone number to call if I wanted to change the appointment. People calling this a scam do not know what they are talking about. If a call reminds you of a real appointment, does not ask for any information and gives you the correct number to call, it is legitimate!

The best thing all of you can do to help STOP ALL of this Junk is to file a complaint with the FCC.. If more people actually TOOK THE TIME TO DO THIS, it will eventually slow down and STOP.. We all know the Do Not Call Register is not the Best Tool in stopping this. Therefore a formal complaint daily will do more than you think.. Please notify and file with the FCC anytime you receive any of these calls.. Do your part to stop these calls.. Also, anything you see on an ID that says "Unknown name, Unknown number is coming from a foreign country/criminals.. To date we have little control over these criminal calls but with the help of All persons filing complaints.. one day we may see results.

AMERICAN VOICE 9724971400 is a call for someone at you number receiving reminders of phone contact appointment by a Social Security Agent or a hearing etc. An answering machine or voice mail should pick this message up for you. It is a legal no spam number and a voice mail system Social Security Administration uses to leave a automated voice message for the recipient who gave them you phone number for contact. Calling this number back will render useless. You should never block this number.

i got some call with a recorded message, reminding me of some hearing relating to some disability discrimination or something. I was supposed to check my summons for information, very non-specific. Of course I did not have anything of that nature and the inclination is to call back where I assume they offer to look up your details for you. In other words they are fishing for information by encouraging you to call them, thinking yu missed something important.

I received a call from (972) 497-1400 at 10:30 AM, May 20, 2011. Caller ID showed, "American Voice" as the caller. The caller laimed to represent a Medicare prescription service. I did not provide any information and hung before the call was completed. After having filed complaints with the National Do Not Call Registry, ATT and the Social Security Administrtion, I found a legitimate number for American Voicemail. I called that number and voiced my complaint. The operator who answered my call told me that number had been deactivated two years previously and that American Voicemail is taking steps to identify and prosecute the caller. ANY CALL ORIGINATING FROM (972) 497-1400 IS UNQUESTIONABLY A SCAM!

my husband passed away in april last year. got uncerimoniously thrown out of his parents house, where he & i had been forced to live because he was disabled, 2 months after his passing. a couple of months ago his parents recieved a phone call from some company or whatever calling themselves american voice. they said they were looking for me about trying to get me my late husband's social security. my husband had been disabled since 1997 had filed 10 different times & was denied all 10 times. every time i try to call the number i was given either i get a busy signal or a voice telling me that my call canno't be completed. i am in a desperate struggle to survive without ending up out on the streets. it sounded like i finally might be able to get someone to help me but after reading all of these other posts i'm beginning to think that this american voice thing is nothing but a scam. i really don't know what else i can do or where else to turn for ANY sort of help. i'm going to end up on the streets & most likely will end up dying there.
