Most of the money these 'associations' collect goes into supporting the telemarketing effort itself and paying executive bonuses. When I want to donate to the police (or any other similar group), I call them and ask them what they need and to which groups I should donate.

This caller said he wanted to speak with the women of the house. Said that he was from the FRAT ORDER OF THE POLICE and was asking for a donation. I told him that I do donate to the police (and I do) but not over the phone. He quickly changed the subject and said that he wanted to know if I thought it was a good idea to have police around to protect us. I said of course I do. This is a scam.... It's sad because it gives our protectors a bad name...

This is the second time they called. I never answered the phone and they didn't leave a message. I figured it was some kind of promotional call or something to that effect.

I left the phone ring because I didn't recognize the caller's name or phone number: FRAT ORD POLICE - 516-453-5625. No messag was left either. A legitimate business or public phone call would leave a message identifying themselves, identifying the full name of the person they want to speak to and the purpose of the call. No such thing happened here. So it is one of the many random phone call looking for donations or to sell something or God knows what.

ARE YOU NUTS?! THESE CALLS ARE BOGUS!!!! THEY DONT CARE FOR ANYTHING AS SOON AS YOU ANSWER ANY QUESTION THEY HANG UP!! THEY ARE SEEING IF SOMEONE IS HOME! DO NOT PICKUP WHEN THEY CALL OR YOU"LL CONTINUE GETTING DIFFERENT COMPANY CALLS AT THAT TIME EVERY DAY!!!!!!!! (all though it is fun to play with these losers when they call and make them crazy like they make me!! just scream and yell at them ask them for their names etc. I even asked the guy if he wanted to donate money to my organization - which, like his, doesnt exist!!!)

This phone number is calling to do fund raising for the New York State Fraternal Order of Police. I have called the number. It directs you to a customer service department that can answer questions, help you donate, or anything else related to the FOP. Also, there’s information on, you can contact them there with any questions or requests. The FOP is doing a lot of really great things for New York police officers and the people that call are trying to help them raise money so they can do even more good.

Phone was charging so didn't hear it ring from other room. Didn't leave message. Couldn't figure out why cops would be calling me. I am on the do not call list.

Caller id showed up on my TV (our cable service with phone shows calleers id on tv screen) I answered the phone because I though it was the police downstate and my son travels there once a month. When I answered the call, there wasno one there, when I checked the caller id, it was Frat Ord Police and the above number. This is from Nassau NY.

Did not leave a message. Either a call for money or someone checking to see if someone is home. TV station warned residents of phoney police fundraising calls.
